Scandinavian Avionics receives new EASA STC for upgrade ULB

Scandinavian Avionics has received the EASA Part-25 AML STC 10065686 covering the upgrade from a 30 days ULB with a new 90 days ULB, DK120/90.

As the upgrade consists of replacing the existing battery with a new Li Ion battery, this upgrade is classified as a Major Change by EASA.

EAD Aerospace adds A330-200/300 and A340-200/300 to SUMS family of Satcom STC’s

Having received the EASA STC for a Honeywell JetWave™ installation earlier this month for the A319, A320/A321 NEO & CEO series aircraft, EAD Aerospace, an Eclipse company, has now also achieved an EASA STC for the A330-200/300 and A340-200/300 families.

This STC, which is also an EASA AML-STC, is using the latest generation of EAD Aerospace Satcom Universal Mounting System (SUMS). SUMS is developed, designed and manufactured in France since 2014 for various aircraft types including A319, A320, A321, A330, A340, B777, and B747 (coming soon). Read more

Duncan Aviation Completes Sixth STC for Gogo AVANCE L5

Duncan Aviation is pleased to announce that its Engineering and Certification Department has completed six full-equipment STCs for Gogo Business Aviation’s AVANCE™ L5 in-flight Internet and Wi-Fi system.

These STCs cover the Wi-Fi certification and full equipment and antenna installation required to provide in-flight connectivity to the Gogo Biz® 4G network and are currently issued for ten aircraft makes/models. Read more

REBTECH ANNOUNCES KUERZI AVIONICS PARTNERSHIP

REBTECH, a company specializing in avionics night vision lighting, has announced a partnership with Kuerzi Avionics of Lommis, Switzerland. Kuerzi Avionics will perform night vision filter implementation and aircraft installations for REBTECH in Europe.

European customers will now be provided with the same high quality NVIS modifications in Europe as provided in the U.S. and Canada without having to ship components and equipment across the Atlantic.

REBTECH will serve as sales agent in North America for Kuerzi Avionics products, including the company’s EMS solutions. Read more

GDC TECHNICS IS AWARDED TWO HEAD-OF-STATE PROGRAMS CONSISTING OF FOUR WIDEBODY AIRCRAFT

GDC Technics announced two separate Head-of-State completion contracts, consisting of four widebody aircraft in total.

Mohammed Alzeer, GDC Technics General Partner states: “With the diversification of our capabilities, GDC has laid the groundwork to lead this industry in Next Generation aircraft modifications. We have the resources, knowledge, and capacity to take on many projects of this magnitude and more.”

In 2017, external penetrations were accomplished on the composite airframe of multiple B787s, including a KA-Band, INMARSAT, SATCom, Live Television and more for ultimate client connectivity.  This year GDC will deliver three wide body Head of State aircraft. Read more

DAC INTERNATIONAL’S GDC64 CONVERTER RECEIVES PMA APPROVAL

DAC INTERNATIONAL INC. (DAC), a subsidiary of Aero Precision Holdings LP, announced that its GDC64 Tablet Aircraft Interface Unit (TAIU) has been approved as part of an FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC).

The GDC64 Tablet Aircraft Interface Unit provides power to recharge an Apple iPad® and provides navigation information to the iPad for charts. The GDC64 is hard-wired to the aircraft without the reliance on wireless connectivity. The GDC64 safely connects an Apple iPad to aircraft sensors to supply data to iPad applications. Apps utilizing this data can be developed by end users using the DAC software development kit (SDK). Read more
